BirdBox Camera :-)

Hi people.

Last year my family got my Dad a Birdbox with a digital camera in it for his birthday

It came with all the cables, and he spent a weekend running the wires, rigging it up and it's now plugged into his PC, with a hard drive recording virtually 24/7. I got him Ulead9 for editing too, which he's sussed very well now.

We've not run it as a webcam, but here's some footage from today

How good is that image quality? I'm really pleased for him. His PC is working for him at last, really working. It's online, he emails me updates, the quality is good, the TV card is paying for itself, the extra hard drives are in full use while he edits and trims

My dads obsessed with his, it came with a wireless sender, so he has it in the kitchen telly. and flicks to it at least once every 5 mins

Last year, I was gonna post, as a little tit was making his home there...and then a frikkin great sparrow came and whooped him out of it, and then left it empty!

It's got a light built into it and the transformer at the end of the cable (ie in my dads house, by his PC) has a dimmer switch on it so you brighten it slowly to see whats going on and then turn it off to let the little birds sleep

It has a microphone too but the silly old bugger say's it broken. More likely it's a Sound Card setting, as he was having issues with Ulead and made alot of software setting changes.
