I've not had an issue with them. I've barely used my net connection recently though. Can't say I had any issues at all though regarding my net connection.

internet's been used constantly since the day they put 128k broadband here in 2000, no problems at all. old modem still going strong.![]()
Something hasnt been right with mine for quite a while now.
I have the new purple/blue modem and my connection was rock solid at 3.7 Mbps using thinkbroadband's test. Now though when i test using the same test I get 1.1 Mbps all the time, YET when i tried downloading a linux iso it was coming though at 450+ kB/s (3.6 Mbps). Surfing feels slow though and youtube an places seem slowish.
I tried connecting direct to the modem I tried a different computer I tried it in linux its always the same. Maybe it could be thinkbroadband but my friend on ADSL is having no such probs with it.
You can just tell something is not right with it.
different servers give different speeds, i have found that rapidshare always gives me the fastest download speeds all the time.
No, the opposite, NTL bought the rights to Virgin's name and the mobile service for £950 million.

So basically, NOTHING has happened to the service apart from the media advertised about what's going on. So these issues that have been happening with users are just bad luck as opposed to "Virgin being crap" - because it's actually just NTL still. Heh.
no
The official line is:
Virgin Central (the new on demand service) is sucking all the bandwidth away but this is only a problem in areas where the network equipment is older. Virgin claim they are replacing it all now so speeds in affected areas should be sorted soon.
The perfectly serviceable network inherited from NTL and Telwest has been crippled (in some places) by the new on demand service but they are upgrading equipment to eliminate the problems.
Classic slipup there by Virgin.
You shouldn't wait until your hashtable is 100% full before resizing it; you shouldn't wait until your graphics card can't even get a game to load before upgrading it (let alone play at >25fps); nor should you saturate an infrastructure to the point at which it stops being reliable... woops!
Here's a tip Virgin: Assess, upgrade, rollout new services. Beats rollout, wtf, assess, upgrade the now broken bits.
It might be worth ringing Virgin up , i did this morning after constant slow speeds for a few weeks , i was told they know there is a problem and i am due for an upgrade!
