Mushrooms are good because of the following ;
Though commonly thought to contain little nutritional value, many varieties of mushrooms are high in fiber and protein, and provide vitamins such as thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), biotin (B7), cobalamins (B12) and ascorbic acid (C), as well as minerals, including iron, selenium, potassium and phosphorus. Mushrooms have been gaining a higher profile for containing antioxidants Ergothioneine and Selenium.
so - want lovely nice hair?... eat some mushrooms for the selenium.
Mushrooms are wonderful. Over here on 'Le continente' we eat all sorts of mushrooms. Ceps, chanterelles, Boletes, morels, tromps du mort (Death trumpets).
Many of them are deadly poisons, true, but isn't it worth the risk?

Actually, to be fair, I wasn't too much of a fan until I lived in Paris and then everyone goes ape about these things so I gave them a try. I had the best steak of my life in a sauce of red wine and chanterelles. Since then I'm a convert.
Why not try it? Ignore those pointless little white blobs you normally buy in the supermarket and buy some morels or pleurottes and cook them with a little white wine, seasoning, some cream and perhaps a teaspoon of cornflour to thicken the sauce. Pour that over chicken or steak ot even toast and be amazed.

I have tried other ones, but they're just not to my taste. I'm quite adventurous with food, but mushrooms are one thing that generally I don't like (whatever the sort!)

Mushrooms are lovely!! Stuffed them with cheese and they are so nice!
It is Olives stuffed with anchovies that are wrong, horrible, slimey, salty, ovules of putridness!
