yes.
Im going to be hugley narrow minded here, anyway, the way i see it i have one life, its not very long when it ends its done. The last thing i am/want to do in that time is spend my life worrying about other people. Life is too short to devote yourself to something like this.
I want to enjoy my life in everything that i do, be it drive a sports car,eat twenty cows, shoot eagles with a crossbow (i dont do that) in 60 yrs time i will be gone, so no matter what i do nothing can be changed.

So what are the other factors (from my 5 min google search, this seems like the main one by far)...
IMO the fact that the poor countries have bad land/weather is not a huge factor as the rest of the world can provide more than enough food for them instead of feeding bred animals.
pescevegetarianism as defined above is a form of pseudo-vegetarianism. ie they claim to be vegetarian, but aren't. Not sure on pesco-vegetarianism, but I like pesto if that helps.
Unless you listen to some people who are pseudo-vegetarians who by their definition are vegetarian yet clearly aren't. My counter to your point being that despite the fact that I have provided multiple definitions you keep coming back with the fact that they're not universal, and as such anyone can claim to be a vegetarian despite clearly not being - you can do this with just about any definition, for exampleI agree with you however that I've need seen any definitions that includes chicken, kababs and bacon.
"I'm an atheist, but I believe in God"
that's a whole other can of worms though, and I digress...
To paraphrase
"I'm going to do what I like with no concern for anyone else because at some point I'll be dead, and nobody will care"
I'm not even going to pretend that this is anything to do with Mars Bars any more. That's just a sucky attitude to have in my opinion.
EDIT - To me Directhex's viewpoint is perfectly valid. He likes to eat meat so he eats meat. My issue is with the people who seem to have difficulty with accepting this fact - you don't need all kinds of scientific theory to throw at people, just don't pretend to be something you aren't!

Quite frankly, they are bred to be eaten. It isn't doing any real harm except worrying people about how they are treated. Personally I couldn't really care less, I love meat and in fact hate vegetables! I see vegetables as 'what food eats'.
However if people are worried about how they are treated they become vegetarian and don't eat it and that is fine. Won't change my viewpoint though. I completely agree with Arbitor, we have been eating meat for 1000's of years with no ill consequences, why should we just stop because we a morally better now?
I got there before you splash
global warming pmsl, you think i care that england is getting warmer?
