As an aside there's a theory that the different human blood groups evolved over time and are thus suited to different food types (O blood groups more suited to hunter/gathering and As to vegetarian, I think.. I can't remember for sure). It's contentious (and according to at least one medic friend of mine, based on bad science) but when I followed the Eat Right For Your Type diet very strictly I felt pretty good...
I'm a rampant meat eater, always have been (I'm an O blood group) I'm currently waiting for science to grow steaks from bovine cells so I can eat one without feeling guilty. Ethically I'd like to be veggie but I don't think it'll ever happen. Incidentally, I'm passionate about animal welfare and anti cruelty to animals (I'll never visit Spain and give them my £s because of bull-fighting) but nor do I believe that because I eat meat it makes me a hypocrite. Perhaps it does in some people's eyes but my choices make sense to me.. I've killed and butchered animals in the past and if I were hungry enough I'd do it again.. I just prefer someone else to do it for me.
I've got good friends who are veggie and vegan (at the latter's house I once ate a KFC without them protesting though they did make me try some vegan pizza.. which was actually pretty nice.) Anyway, the whole nature debate I don't think flies to be honest. There are cultural reasons for vegetarianism and it's clear humans can live on all kinds of stuff that our ancestors never had access to. The diversity of diet and viewpoints is one of humanity's strong points, I think.
JMHO as ever.
That's for me to know...
I did a bit of fishing when I was younger but found that it bored the arse off me. Plus, I'm not a fish fan (apart from tuna and a few other choice types).
Anyway, without being specific I'll just say a number of animals, small and large.. I think the term murder comes from killing a Norman so I will plead not guilty on that one!
Mmmmmmmm Wheat Crunchies.
Strangely (well, probably not) I love bacon flavour Wheat Crunchies, yet can't stand bacon - it's the one meat I can't handle.
^Ah now this is a pet topic of mine! I maintain that most flavoured stuff has its own flavour - that's to say, tomato flavoured stuff doesn't taste of tomato and cherry flavoured stuff doesn't taste of cherries. They're sometimes close but not the same.
This is the reason I don't like drinking chocolate or chocolate cake. Neither really tastes like chocolate to me. (Go figure.)
Come on you can tell us... unless...
you illegally killed animals
or was it abroad where killing animals (inc humans) randomly is legal
I wanna hear the great battle story of Pollaxe vs a lion/mouse/eagle/american (his dinner)
let me know if any of my guesses are correct
Mostly in this country... I must maintain my sense of mystery.. bwahahahahahahah!
I've never (to my knowledge) illegally killed anything.. anyway, this was in my long past youth! I don't like hunting and the like now as a result. I have no problem if someone needs to hunt to live but to kill things for pleasure seems inherently wrong to me. (JMHO as ever, of course!)
I am a meat-eater but I try to be an ethical one. Obviously pigs don't think it's ethical for me to eat them, but I buy me meat from a farnm shop that guarantees that the animals were brought up in decent conditions and killed humanely. The bacon I get is superb, and it comes from a herd of pigs that live in the Ardennes forest. To qualify for 'ethically produced' status the pigs must have access to an area of 80 x 80 metres (640 square Metres) of land. Since the herds are pretty big they actually have huge tracts of forest to roam in, they raise their piglets naturally and lie around, fecking, fighting and feeding like real wild pigs. I have been to one of the 'farms' and they have a little restaurant and serve their own produce (including what must be illegally distilled Calvados) and the pigs come to the back door for the scraps. It's pretty cool and helps me to not feel guilty about pork.
There is a cow farm like it, but cows are different, they don't like the woods, so it's not as cute feeling as 'Piglet Wood'. Great steaks though.

My wife was a vegetarian on the grounds that she doesn't want animals bred in ****ty, cruel farms so that she can eat them. She figured that fish get born free, and leap and splash and have baby fish and then get caught and filletted and they basically have happy lives. So it was OK to eat them.
Remember the lyrics to "Something in the Way" by Nirvana? "It's OK to eat fish 'cos they don't have any feelings"? Well, my wife feels the opposite, it's OK to eat fish as they live normal, happy lives.
Now I know that my wife is living in a cloud of delusion, but hell, at least I got to eat fish when she was cooking.
Now we live in Belgium, and I have shown her the ethical farms, she is OK with eating ethically produced pork, chicken, beef and guinea fowl. And I am in pig heaven. <drool, sausages, drool>

If some of what has been said in this thread is true then you REALLY need to sort your life out and stop worrying about something, which in the grand scheme of things is quite minor.
There are ALOt worse things that can happen to you than ewating meat if your a vegetarian, obviously its not in yur best interests, but some of what has been said is way ott.
I dont class hunting as wrong, i njoy shooting for sport, obviously we`re not talking big game here. But its all opinion.
