Processed quorn is expensive, just as any processed food is.
Get quorn 'raw' as it were, and it's cheaper than meat.
However I don't generally like meat substitutes when they're trying to be meat substitutes.

Quorn makes life easier for people like me who's other half isn't veggie. Plus she actually prefers Quorn mince to meat.
I hate the taste of quorn
What about quorn on the cob?
I prefer quorn mince to beef..
Turkey mince is best though.
In a bizzare turn of events it turns out I can still eat these according to this article. http://www.kosher.org.uk/documents/ItsKosherAnyWhey.pdf
For most of you it will be meaningless, but gives a good idea of what has changed.
As I can only eat kosher meat, which is expensive, and not easy to get in Bristol (I bring it up from London) I don't eat much, once or twice a week and I'm fine with it.
I don't see veggie stuff as a substitute for meat but I still like it, it's a quick meal. Haven't hard quorn in ages as it didn't settle with a few stomachs in my family and am quite happy eating the soya based stuff. (Note all the supermarket stuff is made by the same company, Tivall)
So don't know if anyone has seen, but it was just on BBC News 24 that Mars have done a U-turn and decided not to use animal products again, admitting they made a mistake!
They apparently had 6000 complaints within a week so decided to change their minds. 6000 doesn't seem that many to me on the grand scheme of things but apparently it's enough, so we can all eat Mars Bars and the others again! Woohoo

Thread title should be changed to "rich veggies : )"
Yeah, just read that with interest thinking of how many posts this thread had racked up....
I guess that against the general levels of apathy, for 6000 people to complaign, there must be some seriously upset veggies out there...
