Norton Ghost freeware?

I'm looking for a free alternative to Ghost....I'm just installing everything on my new rig, and I don't want to have to do it again should anything go wrong. Is there any software out there that can create a disk image I can burn to DVD or onto a seperate hard drive, from which I can restore everything from a simple install?

Cheap would be good, free would be better. But if there's nothing out there, I'll fork out for whatever is best.

What does everyone else use?

The best paid for util is Acronis True image - but.. you can get it free if you have a certain hard drive - see here:
