Moving from gaming PC to console

    Hi everyone,

I have been using PC's for gaming for some time now, I spent around £3,500 last summer on a new rig, however the constant cost of upgrading to keep playing games at a decent graphic level is beginning to put me off. As such I am considering selling my PC and buying an Xbox 360 or PS3 as I have a really good laptop for my day to day work.

I am keen to find out what you all think of this and also what kind of money I should be asking for my PC.

    Thanks in advance.

That PC would do any current game and most new games justice..

It's a good spec, however the problem is a budget of £800 now would build you a better PC which is why you would be better off splitting it and selling the parts I think.

The monitor of course will pull a premium..but i doubt you'll sell the pc with it.

Unless you know someone who wants a gaming PC and who doesn't know much about them etc.. you won't get much back.

Agreed. I'm drooling over some of them already. It's a top range 'last generation' computer, so lots of us who bought low-mid range 'last generation' computers would be interested in upgrading components.

The reason behind wanting to sell the dell monitor as well is that I don't need the high res so it makes sense to spend the money it will get me on a decent HD TV??

As said, £800 could buy you better in this current generation, but i reckon you could get a fair percentage of that if you split the parts - to be perfectly honest, if you put it for sale on the forums as a whole PC, the majority of interested parties would be asking for splits.

I mean if you're seriously considering selling that 30" Dell, that'd go for a few hundred at least.. you could easily cover the cost of a '360 with that alone i would imagine.

Ignoring the screens it should still fetch around £300
I'd sell them seperately. If you break it, you'll get more for it but it'll be a pain to sell all of the parts.

I agree that there are some cracking games on the PC but the easyness of a console is becoming more appealing. I've spent too many years now having to waste time getting games to work due to various bugs etc.

If I was to sell my Dell monitor seperate how much do you think I should be asking for? I think you can pick them up for about £890 new.....
