I would love a Dog as we used to have one sadly he's gone now but I could not consider a dog now or atm because I would not like to leave him/her on their own so a cat is the only option but some are attentive :-)

I like cats and dogs, they both have their good and bad points but a lot is down to the owner too.

I've only had a cat, so i guess i'll have to say cats.

I'm not too keen on most cats, as all the others i have met have been total nut cases, But not mine. He is, without a doubt, the most gentle animal i have ever met in my life. He has never bitten, or scratched anyone, nor got in a mood with anyome, which is a bit difficult when 2 of the people he shares a house with are my 2 hyper active step-sisters, who (when they were younger) were half the time grabbing his tail, and also, he was bullied by his previous owne, and with most animals who had experiances like that, you would expect them to be aggresive, but not him, i would say that he is the complete opposite.

When we go on holiday, he is there waiting for us in the hallway, as if to say, "welcome home"(he also hates us going away ). When my step-mum had cancer, he could tell something was wrong, and he went and sat with her, sometimes for hours and hours on end. Not moving from her side once(until my step-sisters got home...).

He is 15 now, yet still as filled with energy as ever (which was never much in the first place), and when he does die, which we hope does not happen too soon, we don't want to get another cat, as none of us think we could replace the one we have at the moment.

Had 3 cats, one i hand reared, 2 were rescue cats, deaf and asthmatic. They had to go last December because of the new baby, cried my heart out.
Used to have a rotty bitch called Jodie, loved her to bits until some killed.

Now i won't have either, miss them all to bits but i'll never go through that again.
    Too painful

On a brighter note i want a evil undead monkey

Dogs, definetly. I have 2 Bordeauxs and there amazing. Both real characters.

Cats are just horrible pets. I hate them, malt like mad and only turn up when they want feeding.

A Greyhound & a Lurcher. Pet insurance from Tesco, abt £5 pm. Well worth the money as it includes for long term ilness, especially when they get old. Greyounds are susceptable to broken toes & bone cancer in later life.

My Cats love me when they want feeding, Max just loves me no matter what. It's great to walk into the house and be greeted by him wagging his tail and happy to see me I think it's great when he just flops his backside down wherever he wants too, even if he doesn't fit! it's comical to watch! the way he creeps onto the bed at nighttime because he think you won't notice the 8st lump wedged inbetween you and the duvet! he's funny when he plays ballio... if ya ask him to get Ballio, he goes off and comes back with a tennis ball which he'll hold in his mouth and you have to get it off him... while he snarls, growls and dribbles on ya! he loves that game, then when you've wrestled it off him you have to throw it so he'll get it back and the whole game starts again If he wants to play he'll approach you with Ballio in his mouth and sit nudging your hand until you play.........only thing is, he doesn't realise that not everybody wants to play Ballio with an 8st German Shepherd they go white when approached with it and you say "He wants you to wrestle it off him now" awwwww he's only a baby! and your honoured if you offered a game of Ballio, he only plays it with People he likes

Our cat sits out the front waiting for the dog to get back from walks, then leaps out and attacks mutt when he returns.

How much time do you have to devote to a dog? Ours is walked 1.5 - 2 hours every day, and isn't left more than 4 hours during a day. He needs the company. Most cats don't mind being left all day, also, is much easier to arrange for someone to 'pop round' and feed the cat if on hols/away weekend.

I would really like to see what a cat would do, if you let 10 chipmunks loose into a room with a cat!!

Would anyone else like to see that?

    What you think would happen?

the cat would become the lead singer, with the chipmunks as backing vocalists. they would go on tour and be marginally successful before breaking up over money matters
