Off the top of my head, what you need is:

    GB sticker
Headlight deflectors (can pick up these two on the ferry or at BP in dover, I've never found them much cheaper)
Warning triangle (mine was 99p from the, er, 99p store)
First aid kit (although I Doubt anyone has ever been fined for not having one, it makes sense anyway)
Hi-Vis vest for every occupant of the car (in case you break down on a motorway and have to get out; not sure what countries require this although again it's not a bad idea. Poundland for these)
Car registration, insurance docs, and both parts of your driving licence.

Edit: have a nice trip, BTW. Good luck being stuck in a car with the kids and in-laws.
    Cheers Rave!

I'd got as far as the GB sticker....completely forgot about the headlight stickers, despite the fact my dad used to swear for hours trying to get the damn things off again.

    thanks for the rest!

Who said drive to Barcelona? He's only off for 7 days!! This has been the basis of my holidays for the past 4 years. Me and a friend usually get a month of work and just travel round Europe, with a tent Last year we got as far as Hungary. If your only going for 7 days, I recommend not leaving France/Belgium. Your best bet is going to see the war stuff. That keeps everyone happy, although its actually quite depressing.

Dunkirk is a waste of time don't even bother. Go to a tourist information as soon as you arrive they will sort everything out for you. They speak perfect English if required. Follow the guidance above about preparing your car. Second year of doing this we got stopped near the Alps in France and they love catching Brits. Don't let them.

Other than that you'll have a great time. Best holidays I've ever had. PM if you have any questions

I was in Antibes for 2 weeks 2 years ago and will be going back for 3 weeks on Sunday (well, to Nice, but it's close enough to Antibes). As you said it's very nice, but I doubt he can get down there for a couple of days and make it worthwhile lol.

Good choice - lovely to drive and impressive setup inside.

There was an ad in today's Metro about a deal P&O are doing- any duration trips from £40 each way with a free 1-day disneyland ticket. Not sure whether that's a good deal or not as I don't know whether you want a 1-day ticket or how much they are usually; anyway:

(It's on the front page of the poferries.com website if the direct link doesn't work).
