    Light Rain? Yeah Right!

Reports of 2Ft of flooding around here - luckily where I live it's on a hill - but I've just gone to do some jobs and there is a LOT of water around - people driving through it very fast in small cars (not sensible) I counted 15 broken down cars....

My car wasn't affected at all.

I've just had to drive through a massive puddle to get to my flat.

It's been hacking it down since this morning, it's eased off now.

BBC weather has light rain for us - it's been heaving down since 5 a.m. They've sent a load of people home too because quite a few of the roads have been closed. Not looking forward to the drive home!

Gorgeous afternoon and evening here, after a very mildly damp sports morning at work.

    Sorry.

One of the worst rain we had in noth west london. I was driving on the third lane and nearly lost control of the car. I think I have unintendedly splash some water to the pedestrians on my way home. My apology

Never seen anything like it here in Gloucestershire in 20 years, foot of water on most collective corners, and traffic and closed roads everywhere. I had to try 3 different routes to get home and my usual 5 min journey from work to home turned into over half an hour...

....Hope everyone else in the Gloucestershire/Worcestershire/Herefordshire area is ok!

It rained so hard in Croydon (as I was finishing my shift at 11.15) and got so dark that all the streetlights came on. Brighton Road outside my garage turned into a river- the water was literally about 4-5 inches deep at one point, as as the cars passed waves would lap right up to the entrance of the garage. I skulked inside for a bit before risking walking to where my car was parked, then it took about twice as long as usual to get home- I also had to ford a small lake at one point. Not long after I got home it had cleared up nicely. Judging by the state of an ashtray and a couple of cups in my garden (which were dry yesterday) well over an inch of rain has fallen in the last 24 hours. My conservatory is a bit prone to leaking in heavy rain, but it's obviously been properly flooded this time, by water lapping in under the door from outside by the look of it (dirt everywhere- luckily it's tiled so it'll be easy to clean up).
