Lol I'm not surprised coming from Bristol to London.

my wife and her friend drove from London to Bath today. .... bad, bad move.

they hit the M4 just as t he centre of the storm did. 2 hour journey magically turned into an 8 hour journey.

she's just texted me some of the pictures of cars driving through water about half way up the doors.... madness indeed.

Just feel sorry for those whose homes are flooded (again). Gotta be an absoute nightmare

We even had some sun earlier, but it's just started tipping it down in the last 15 mins...

I like rain though, it's cooling everything down and it sounds nice to listen to and chill out to.

Yeah, it's nice to be able to sleep at night without being bathed in sweat from the hot and humid nights we had last year!

I drove up to see a friend near Birmingham yesterday. M5 was fine, although you could see huge lakes on either side of the motorway around Gloucester. We went out for a pub lunch and by a fluke found our way to the country pub (she ignored the sat nav in her car). On the way back following the correct route we kept hitting impassable roads closed due to flooding and ended up coming back the way we went.

The Bristol area has been fine though, no problems at all.

    Cheers,
    Stephen

My car wasn't affected at all.
Same - living on a hill is a handy thing, I was in Holland when Swindon was hit, apparently 'Bassett was pretty badly flooded. Still, this is just unnatural.. but i'm hoping to have a barbie tommorow

Coming back was rather hilarious. There was an accident on the motorway and it had been closed off between J12 and J13. We saw about 5 miles of traffic that had gone through before they closed the motorway off at the preceding junction and then another 5 miles of traffic trying to get off at said junction.

People were sat on their roofs waving at us!

Went today to check the place where we're supposed to be having our wedding photos taken on Friday. The park is closed because it's totally flooded. Looks like it's a wash out for Friday as well
