I've never quite understood why so many people have beef with ginger people, jokingly or not, I mean, its not like they chose to be ginger, is it?

That said, I understand no one will be able to give me a unique and orginal reason for why they think of ginger people as a source of laughter and / or clowns.

Being fat for example is more understandable as in more cases than ginger-haired people, its usually the person's fault that he/she is fat.

But given the amount of bullying, stereotyping etc. I'd imagine most ginger people would want to go grey as grey is a normal hair colour, even though people STILL can't even deal with that.

I guess what I'm saying is, people are crap and fickle and in denial about something...

Yes, im ginger, and Yes I am proud of it, and NO i don't give a crap about what other people say. It is percieved that Ginger is abnormal because there is a lower percentage of ginger gene pool, left over from when the Vikings invaded. But Why is it acceptible for people to bully and be pregidous towards ginger people, yet if I laughed at you because you were black, asian or anything else, I would be called a racist and would probably be banned?

I think it's a typical *poke fun*.... *response* sort of thing. It's like people mocking Jeremy Beadle or David Hasselhoff. Used in the right way, things people poke fun about can be quite a powerful asset.
