Jet engines have lame acceleration from a standing start. I'd like to see it go up against the Tucano.

White text for those who don't want a series 10 spoiler. Highlight between the 2 lines to see it:

Britcar 24hrs. I think you can probably see where this is going... (sorry, had to do it!)

Nah, we attempted to go to Donington for the Renault World Series (bit of a meet up from another forum), but the traffic was just insane. Travelled around 800 metres in 3 hours, so decided to go home instead.
I just hope season 10 of top gear isn't quite as silly as season 9 where there were trying to get laughs more than talk about cars
Erm... I still have no idea why Bugatti wont let the Top Gear peeps put a Veyron round the track. Anyone care to explain...
Because there's a good chance it wouldn't come first. TG have allowed some tweaking of cars in the past (most obviously with the Konigsegg and its spoiler), and obviously no one track is going to be a comprehensive test of a car's performance. But I suppose VW don't want anything to hurt the boasting rights they have based on the Veyron's spec.
Ah, so they are scared that it wont win. How very crap.
The veyrons strength is not in corners and on such a twisty track...
Until they do let them do it, im not buying one
The interesting thing is that I'm sure there are lots of people (well, a few at least...) who do have that sort of money (and a Veyron) and would have been happy to see The Stig thrash their car around a track while they get acclaimed in the studio, but so far there have been no takers...
Hmmm
I have to say that I'd be surprised if the Veyron posted a really good time on TG's track, It's small. twisty, and not suited to the Veyron's strengths..
its a bit off track, but do we know who the Stig is yet??
"Top Gear's Richard Hammond is involved in another car accident, less than a year after nearly dying in a stunt."
just read this on an RSS news feed, but i cant get any more info because news sites are blocked at work until lunch...
You can find the story here:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6988623.stm
but, doesn't sound serious (for him):-
"Richard wasn't hurt at all but the car was damaged. It was taken back to the pits and repaired before Richard carried on with the race."
