Driving Test

I passed on thursday, and today the 'rents have sorted out the insurance on one of the cars

Looks like tomorrow I get lumbered with the shopping lol

Oh, and I was 3rd time lucky, but I had a *huuuuuge* gap between the 2nd and 3rd attempts.. like umm 8 years

I started my driving lessons on Friday, I have another one next friday, so far, so good. I did stall the car 2 times though but it was expected for my first driving lesson. I had driven before on holiday, but I was a mess.

Umm, why the hell don't we have that here? That's a fapping brilliant idea!!

We have lessons on how to learn in a car displaying red 'L' plates, then take a theory test and a practical test. Once we pass, you are supposed to wear green 'L' plates for 6 weeks/months (can't remember) but nobody ever does!

well - if you think about it you could apply for a liscence - and then not drive for 5 years and pass - as you havnt done anything wrong

this means youll have a liscence, and wont be able to drive, also theres no standard to compare you against - you might just be lucky not having a crash, but really your a poor driver

thats expected mate, its the clutch and soon you get used to it

i did on my first lessons, and now im on about lesson 8 - i can drive fine , done all the mauvers (sp?) and can stop and start the car all the time, like in traffic jams without stalling - youll get used to it in time so dont worry about it mate

Yup, getting used to the car doesn't stop once you pass the test either, mum's fiesta is *completely* different to the clio I learnt in

The steering is weird, the indicator stem feels completely different and the pedals are a) in the wrong place, b) too close together, and c) both the clutch and accelerator have *zero* feedback.. but after a couple of quick drives, I'm getting used to it

after you've driven a few cars the 'getting used to a car' thing is much easier - i've not had any problem in most of the cars i've driven recently - its simply a practice thing.

I think i must have stalled in every lesson for at least 30 of the sessions i had so don't worry about that at all!


Unlucky about failing, took me 3 attempts and passed with 10 minors
