I once watched the Yellowstone uber volcano drama series, it was at school for geography lessons, was the best thing they ever showed us until somebody brought in a episode of phinix nights.

you mean supervolcano where it erupts filled with american grade C stars ?

Anyway back on topic, we are too PC at the moment but it's always the non-minorities whinging about it for FEAR of causing any anguish and distress. They fear the thought of getting a law-suit meaning a big fine and thus react harshly to anything and anything they see as offense.

I think all this talk about super-volcanoes is like to offend lesser volcanoes. All volcanoes should be considered equal.

Bet that Supervolcano is just an invention of the right wing press and\or lazy hacks anyway.

Re: Are we just too PC these days?

I found that the uber-PC stuff is usually a real product of real pissed-off people. When feminism was something that women had to practice in order to be taken seriously they used to come up with loads of really dumb-sounding PC 'causes' and idiotic-seeming actions like burning bras. Why burn bras? Did men make women wear bras? Did they because men don't like the sight of an unfettered breast? No. They burned bras because it got headlines and made people think.

It's the same with a lot of loony sounding stuff today. Take a handicapped minority like gingers, if they just sit and whine about how no-one wants to have sex with them, no-one gives a damn. It's obvious, but we don't care. However if the gingers ganged together and squirted their sun block all over posters of normal people enjoying the sun we would pay attention. Their cries for help are ignored at the moment, but something really silly like that would catch our attention.

We probably still wouldn't care though.

Re: Are we just too PC these days?

I watched a program a few weeks back where a local council in Birmingham was spending millions each year on interpreters.
They had an interpreter for almost every language imaginable and they said they 'had to have them' to help various ethnic groups fill out all the different benefits that are needed.

They interviewed an Indian lady that has been here for nearly 25 years and she couldnt speak a single word of english.
They also had a turkish lady that lived in the UK for 12 years and had 5 children under 7. She also couldnt speak any english at all.

It may sound harsh but these people are totally useless to our society so why are we paying for them?
I'm not making these comments in a racist context before anyone accuses me of that. I just believe that if our welfare system is good enough for them, then so should our language be.
The fact remains though, and this is where the politically correct brigade wade in, is that if we provide all this assistance which i believe we shouldn't, then these people have no need to learn our language. I really can't blame them for that. A free meal ticket with no effort is what anyone would want.

Lets face it...this cash should be spent on the drugs that arent available on the NHS because they are too expensive or giving a home to the 1000's of people that have to sleep rough every night on the streets because they CANT claim the benifits they are entitled to that their families have paid into!

Care to provide some facts and figures to back up your claims that most immigrants claim benefits?

    1) You're confused about the separate issues of immigration and asylum,
    2) Immigrants are not entitled to any benefits for at least one year, and
    3) As an immigrant myself I must say that I am continually shocked at the standard of literacy among you aborigines .

Oh, and: "You couldn't make it up!"

so funny to see people thinking that immigrants come here just to get benefits - you guys must get all your facts from the Sun.

Sometimes I feel like I was born here to claim benefits.

And I do! The system works!
