    Ignorant neighbours

    hello,

We have a neighbour who constanly insists on parking her car right behind our driveway. This results in my mother having to manouvre an extremely difficult tight space when reversing the car out of the drive. We've been telling them to move their car ever since they moved in.

We also complained about her, and she got the letter. She still does the same however.

Now, whilst my mother was trying to reverse, the car grazed the wall. Purely because of the neighbour's ignorance, we now have to pay a large bill to get it repaired.

What do you think I should do? I'm currently writing a letter, any tips on what to put in?

    Thanks!

Erm my mother should learn to drive better.

You can request the car to be ticketed, if its blocking your drive.

But think about it, if they ignored the first letter, been arsy in the second one isn't going to help matters, there is no way they are going to pay if they don't consider it their fault/problem. Just try and ask them to not do it again in the future, but dont be surprised if there awnser is the same as my first line.

Ask the council to mark the road with a double yellow line?

Then ask for a street warden to regularly patrol............

If they are not parking over a dropped kerb , then they have every right to park there.(assuming its taxed ) Is parking tight on your road ? Perhaps it would be easier to reverse the car into the drive - it'll be much easier to get out.

If you have another vehicle , why not park it in the offending space , then you can move it at your own convenience.

    Re: Ignorant neighbours

Same happens here, the neighbours have friends or what ever round at their house and because our house is at the end of the double yellow lines it is prime parking for a lot of people. They do not physically block the drive way, but make reversing in/out fairly dangerous as it is a busy road. Can't really do anything about it though.
