    You could always ask her.

Failing that, I recently bought my wife a nice pen.

    Re: Girlfriends bday...

This may start off sounding irrelevant. My sister had breast cancer a little while back. She had the surgery (lumpectomy) and some radio and chems and was pronounced clear. So I sent her a personalised bottle of Champagne with the label saying "My tits are perfect". She thought it was brilliant and I have often thought that a bottle with some other message would make a great novelty birthday present. Light and frivolous, but memorable.

By something like an 'Experience Voucher' - she can then choose what she would like to do.

    Virgin do them......

I've decided that really there isn't much I actually need / want now so have been trying new experiences rather than buying material presents.

Depending on your budget - why not look at lastminute.com for something a little different.

If she's an active type that is, and doesnt mind not doing the pressie on the day

    Re: Girlfriends bday...

That's not a bad idea. I weekend in Paris is pretty affordable these days, or Brussels. Though it will be raining in Brussels. Antwerp too, is the same price as Brussels to get to by Eurostar, and is a very nice town.

I took my wife for a dirty weekend in Paris in August and I had forgotten how wonderful that city is. I am really looking forward to working there again.

If you decide on Paris or Brussels let me know and I will recommend places to stay & eat & see.

IT's my g/f's birthday next week. She has asked for CoCo Chanel perfume, £50 per bottle... Chicks always love perfume.
