    Electronic component suppliers

    More specifically high frequency transducers.

    RS/Farnell/Rapid are no use.

I need some 1Mhz or 2Mhz ultrasonic transducers, and can't find the blighters.

Anyone know any suppliers that might have something I can look at online? Don't want to be filling in enquiry forms/ringing up just yet

    Cheers,
    Steve.

I've never heard of them been that high frequency......

    What are they from/for?

I didn't even know sound could travel at such frequency!

    Yup

edit: @ the animus. It's relating to flow-metering and the level of directivity needed. It can be done, but it appears they go up in price dramatically above 50Khz.

We might have to bodge it.

    Re: Electronic component suppliers

well, its a long shot, but have you tried maplin?

Fast components - Electronic and Mechanical Component Kits have come through for me for some obscure things in the past.

the only other way i have found to get obscure components (super capacitors in my case) was to find the manufacturer, look for a distrobuter an get ready to put an order in for atleast £50 which is the usual minimum order value for these places.

It's looking increasingly likely that, for the transducers we want, minimum order value won't be a problem

ah ic, you can understand the price for these things thou, most people who are doing ultrasound for distance will be using 40-65khz, as its easy to generate from a cheap uC (such as a PIC).

I'd love to know how they can actually make them i just can't imagine something oscillating at that speed!
