    Change to vBcode?

What did you change in the forum code?

I've noticed that something is messing up attempts to provide inline hyperlinks in forum messages. This seems to have started a couple of weeks ago. Below, I tried to provide an example of how the code is messed up, but since the 'code' tags don't work either, I can't. Could this be fixed please? It's very irritating.

For instance, previously I would provide an inline link by typing
    [CODE]
pasting in the link, then typing
    Code:
    ]<word-to-be-linked>
    E.g.:

But if I try that now the linked word vanishes, and on editing my message I see that the vbcode has been garbled and converted to something like

you mean the automatic link naming?

btw you didnt finish your post. I dont see no example of what you mean in your last sentence. I can only guess the vBcode has messed with it
Madduck had problems posting a Crysis download link the other time and I've had that problem a few times. Just have to edit and put it in again.

Yep, I gave up on getting the code tag to work properly.

    For example
    Code:
    [url
works, but if I add an '=' to the end of the bit inside the code tags it turns into
    [code][url=[/code]

Alternatively, type the word you want, then highlight it and click on the hyperlink button and paste the hyperlink into the popup box. Does the same thing as schmuck posted but is sometimes easier

    Re: Change to vBcode?

    Ahah, look at this

    The following works:
    test
But if I change the word to be hyperlinked ('test' in the above) to 'blog' (and that is all that's changed):

It vanishes, and editing the msg reveals it's been changed to {url=http://blog}{/url} where '{'means a square bracket

There's a bug in the forum code.
