    Ways to relax

How do you lot do it (and no ideas involving masturbation please)?

I have been getting very stressed out currently with my housemates, amount of work to do (uni full time and I work 3 days a week) and relationships etc.

Me too =) But in the words of Arnie, "But dey were aaall bad peepl".

Ok here are some other ideas:

    1) Exercise - sounds stupid? Maybe it is. But if you do it for a while, its not only healthy, but you end up being super relaxed afterwards. You can also sleep better at night if you have exercised in the day.
    2) Get a massage off a loved one or a massage therapist or whatever. (Or wait.. you are at work? You want to relax at work? Hmm, I hope you're not a boxer).
    3) Watch a film on the sly? ALT-TAB, ALT TAAAB! whew..
    4) Internet Spades!! Maybe not relaxing but.. up to you.
    5) Stoke your nose. Put your index finger in the middle of your forehead, and then run it down your forehead and then down your nose to the tip, and then do it all over again. And repeat and repeat. I read that works anyway. I usually end up getting bored and playing internet spades.
    6) Sit back and take deep breaths through your nose and fill your lungs. Hold it in just for 1 second, and then then let it out your mouth - slowly (but not too slowly).

That last one works a treat for me. Its probably some kind of butchered bit of yoga that most people laugh at - stressed people

    Re: Ways to relax

Best way to relax is to laugh, even sometimes forced laughter can slowly unwind you (something I find invaluable on the drive home from work!!).

One of the big reasons I don't totally freak out at work is that the office staff tend to have a laugha bout what's going on.

    Re: Ways to relax

Proberly get told off for this but, i smoke some weed and have a hot bath when im
    stressed out or feel tense.

If im angry which i seem to be alot i can honestly say i have a anger problem so i got a punchbag in the garage which gets beaten pretty hard for about 1/2 hour while listening to some heavy metal blasting out, its the best way ive found to let off some steam. As acrobat said excercising helps to release some tension.

As for general relaxing, again i smoke the whacky and have a few drinks most likly whiskey and watch some films or listen to some music.
Hell and Fire was spawned to be released.

    Hmm.

I lie back on my bed, turn the lights off, stick some headphones on and put something relatively soothing on.

My housemates already think im posessed, music from the exorcist aint doing me any favours

I'll give it a shot though, even if Alan Robson uses it on his 'scary night' shows on the Night Owls (this_is_gav will know who I am talking about hopefully)
