I rang the seller on their number, told the guy on the phone that the payment should be with them in a few days. He was like "No problem".

Then he asked where I lived etc...He then offered to send my package with City Link rather then some other random courier, as its closer to me if I missed it, the postage was free too.

I was really impressed! There are genuine people on eBay - just like us lot
Too true, I always put myself in the shoes of the buyer and I know when I buy something I want it quick. I got lucky too. I bought a PSU off a nice chap. It arrived DOA but he was going on holiday soon and he didn't want trouble ( not that I had given him any ) so he actually ordered a new one from OcUK. It arrived the next day I reported it DOA and I was shocked because I hadn't even read the response yet! Very nice person.

Re: eBay - Filled with idiots.

Biggest problem I've had with Ebay was last Christmas, when I was selling an unwanted Cannondale mountain bike. I had a good bid that I was happy with, but a few seconds before the end of the auction, another bidder put in a slightly higher offer and won. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a hi-jacked account and the person who owned that e-mail address denied ever having put in a bid, and got quite irate when I asked for payment. By the time the bike was relisted, the previous bidder had bought a different bike. I now only accept bids from people with a paypal account and positive feedback.
(I've still got the bike, it turned out to be very useful in the summer when my van broke down!)
Apart from that, a couple of items have gone missing in the post but the Royal Mail eventually admitted it was their fault and paid up. All in all, Ebay is very useful and I've had some great experiences when using it, including meeting a good number of genuine, friendly, helpful people and getting some excellent bargains.

Re: eBay - Filled with idiots.

    Who was it hijacked by?

Mine was hijacked by those tw**s who constantly badger you on Skype: "We Asian firm who sellings electronic crap at very good pricings". At least all they did was send a load of emails from my address.

Apart from that eBay is a bit like life; you meet a million people, love a few, hate a few and watch the rest carefully.

    (Thanks Evilmunky)
