Our Postie is useless

Ok so here's the story, for the last few months now we KEEP getting post delievred to us thats not ours. Either post for someone who only lives a street away because the street names are very similar, or we end up with the neigbors post. Not normally a problem, ok it's annoying to have to take it to the relevant people and say sorry but we got delivered your post.

There are times when we've got to it in and and handed it back to the Posti ad said hey thats not ours. But just the other day which I think has drawn the final straw really, we were delivered post that belonged to someone who lives about half a mile way, the post code isn't even the same as ours and the street name is totally different, even though the house number was the same (number 7)

Moaning at the Post Office was no use, they just said there was nothing that could be done. See the thing is, what if other people are getting our post, and unlike us they don't give it to use, I mean I've been applying for some new jobs and I'm quite worried that if I have been selected for interview I won't know about it as pur quite honestly, useless Postie has delivered it to the wrong address.

Any suggestions on what to do with a a useless Postie ? Kill him with fire ? Nuke him from orbit ?

We've had a few incorrect mails over the last couple of weeks. I suppose it depends on the individual postie, we seemed to notice trends of delivery behaviour between different chaps who visit us.

Surely this problem lies with the monkeys at the sorting office? I mean the postie should look over the mail as he posts it, but I was under the impression that the mail comes bunched together in their little red cart all ready for posting.

The postie can post as much mail of mine anywhere he wants all i get is Junk and Bills!

Our posty is great. Knows who we are and says hello all the time.

My old next door neighbour who moved to bigger pastures before the student nurses moved in is my mums postman and he always says hi and has a quick chat when we're in the pub

Sometime we get nextdoors mail by mistake but it gives me an excuse to go and knock on to say hi to them lol

We once had a postie that just dumped the letters on the porch infront of our door. I complained to the post office and they apologised the postie was replaced and we had 12 1st class stamps sent through with a sorry note

I say complain again to royal mail directly

My neighbours and I have given up complaining now and just accept that the postie is to damned crap at his job to be able to put the letters through the right letter box.

I wouldn't have thought it was difficult to correlate the number 7 to the left of my front door with the number 7 on letters but clearly I'm setting my expectations too high.

Probably true though - mine are terrible too.

Not so sure actually; a lot of our bus drivers are now Eastern European (due to our local population feeling that bus driving was beneath them...), and they're a heck of a lot more efficient, aside from their tendency to drive 'em like they stole 'em...
