Re: What PC/ Tech sites do you read regularly?

Regularly/Current: Anandtech, Firingsquad, Silent PC Review, Hexus and StorageReview.

Previously or Rarely: 3DSS (no longer updated), Head-Fi (still visit, but try to avoid in fear of upgraditis), DAP Review, DC Resource, MadShrimps (they often have good round ups for fans/HSF but I only check once in a while).

Yup! I've noticed a definate increase in the front page content and, more importantly, the articles aren't just filler-fluff so you can say to your advertisers that you've updated 20 squillion times today.

Everything that's got on the ground information. So Hexus and the folks in it is a great starting point and I get a chance to put some information back in a community environment. I also usually start with DAILY ROTATION in the morning.

Re: What PC/ Tech sites do you read regularly?

I use most of the mentioned sites from time to time for reviews etc.. but Don't really follow them as I do Hexus.

I often use PC Pro for news but I have noticed hexus getting a lot better and a lot more news

The only other site/forum I like to read is Silent PC Review as they obviously have one thing in mind when it comes to PC building and it's something I apprciate very much in modern computing

Agreed, i am a big fan of the few mentioned sites that specialise in one or two things very well:
    SPCR
    Storage Review
    DAP Review
and i used to read SFFTech for the same reason.
    Oh, and Blues News.

I think overall, other than Hexus (which never gets it 100% chaps so listen up) i really like HardOCP as i find them to be trustworthy and stand by their principles. It might not be true i suppose, but they appear to be prepared to call something a pile of poo if they believe it.

Re: What PC/ Tech sites do you read regularly?

Just had a thought yesterday that I usually jump right into the Forum bit on Hexus with out exploring the main site-just habit. Even the forum bit is so large that there are bits that I have not been in yet . Was into the mobile phone section for the first time yesterday . Reason this thought came about was that ATM I am looking around for a decent case. I was looking at a 900 but felt it was a bit on the small side then spotted one -a CM 690 with a Hexus recommended tag on it . That's what got me thinking that I had not even been in to read the 'review' before looking elsewhere. Must remember to spend more time in the main section and read more of the excellent reviews.

We have some concepts which we will role out and no doubt will help you find reviews quickly from the forum rather than having to go to the main site...

Re: What PC/ Tech sites do you read regularly?

TBH I don't visit news sites all that much. I tend to mainly hang out on forums.
I spend the most time on Gameon followed by Hexus.

I used to visit the overclockers forum on a fairly regular basis but I found the over enthusiastic mods to be particualrly tiresome (The word Gestapo springs to mind) so I stopped visiting there altogether.

The Escapist is good but I tend to only visit there once a week. I wonder if you can guess which day that might be?

I'll look at the Hexus news when a post comes on the forum highlighting something I find interesting.

I'm glad other people have noticed that Tom's has gone downhill. I generally only visit there when I'm in the market for a new piece of hardware and I want to compare the options but then I was looking for a new graphics card the other week I found them much less than helpful.

Re: What PC/ Tech sites do you read regularly?

    Hexus.net
Engadget - The amount they post is actually annoying because it can be difficult keeping up with them.
    DailyTech
    Neowin.net
    Bit-tech
BBC News Tech - Usually 2-4 days behind the above.

I've found that Ask Leo Tech Questions? Get Answers! - Ask Leo! is worth a look, and his weekly newsletter often contains useful tips. The Windows Secrets page WindowsSecrets.com - Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Windows Update also has some good, current information, but you need to subscribe to the paid (donate any amount!) newsletter for maximum benefit.
