Re: The NHS want my kid to be fat

I don't disagree with the health visitor that he will soon need to eat more calories as he is starting to get more active BUT there are good and bad ways to increase calorie intake, and I'm not convinced that sponge cake and custard is the right way! I don't want him to end up being addicted to sugary foods, or not eating his veggies because he knows something nicer is on the way.

To be fair to the health visitors, they don't know me from Adam... I could be completely clueless and just feeding him on wotsits and cups of cold tea, or hardly feeding him anything because it's too much like hard work, in which case sponge cake and custard is probably a reasonable suggestion.

But... we're not giving him sponge cake and that's that! (meanies... )

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time.... It was them that started me drinking.

But surely after seeing the three of you at home (I take it they still do that?) and actually talking to you two, the health visitor should realise that you aren't complete idiots as far as brining up Jr is concerned.

Health Visitors don't visit. We have to go to them now.

    Ah, ok.

Still would have thought they would be able to work out aren't morons. Did you point them to this thread?

Are they cutting back on the health persons competancy too?
