For me, I wait about 5 mins. Then I'm happy again......or if it's something established I'll force myself to focus on the positive and all the things that I'm grateful for.

Re: How do YOU get yourself out of bad moods?

Talk it out with a friend always works with me. They're always good for getting me out of a bad mood.

I am incapable of staying in a bad mood for longer than 5 mins when my friends are around

Find someone you can really chat to, and talk about anything and everything.

The sugary thing can help, but stay away from junk food and ordinary household sugar and get yourself some natural sugar like fructose through fruit-juice or something. The sugar is absorbed faster and you get vitamins too. If you can't get fruit-juice get a Lucozade Sport, it contains glucose and B vitamins which will help.

A cup of tea can help, though I'd stick with the above and not have sugar in it but have it after the fruit juice.

Friends are always a good bet, but if there's no-one around, or even if there is and they'll join you, doing some exercise of some kind (especially outside) really helps, even if it's only going for a walk.

i usually go to the gym (if possible) and unload my anger into my workouts, then a nice shower and freshly clean clothes! failing that fresh air in the form of walking to my mates house to chat **** and watch crap tv always helps me.

Re: How do YOU get yourself out of bad moods?

I do admit that i have a very bad temper and it seems that when things are making me angry it just keeps boiling up until i explode in a fury of anger and destruction, its like i just cant help it and have trouble controlling myself sometimes, like for example i had a agrument with my dad once about work cause we work together and he slammed the office door and i just went berzerk and pretty much destoryed the door within 30seconds like serously kicking it thru and ripping it off its hinges, its that bad. So i got a punchbag that hangs from the ceiling in the garage at home and at work is well and its perfect for relieving stress and anger and generally just letting off some steam when i get angry. A good 1/2 hour of beating the crap outta of it is wonderful for the body and mind after that i take a really hot bath and soak for a good 30mins.

Re: How do YOU get yourself out of bad moods?

Thanks to a rather weird RE teacher I had when I was 8, I've always meditated when I feel in a bad mood. Once I've spent half an hour or so not worrying about anything, I can usually come back and deal with the problem and quite often the odd stray thought that pops into my head is usually quite relevant.

Of course, me being me, that stray thought is often "crap, I really should go say sorry"

Re: How do YOU get yourself out of bad moods?

It depends. If I'm at home then I'll usually get in the car and go see my girlfriend. If that isn't an option I'll either have a chat with her on the phone or turn the lights off, lie down my my headphones on and listen to some music.
