    why not just uninstall all your AV programs? that way you will get no false positives ever! your detection rate may be a bit crappy but priorities right?

    Relax Cozwin. I'm not having a pop at you, but running two anti virus packages side by side is a recipe for disaster. In fact most vendors explicitly tell you not to do it. And I did say all three FREE ones.

    Were you getting the false positives whilst running two packages together? I run AntiVir on various junk boxes and recommend it for a free alternative to people - no-one has ever complained and I've never witnessed what you describe (and it's part of the job).

    nope i use antivir at home, at work, and i recommend it to anyone who asks. same as godsdog i have never heard of anything like this happening. but then again no-one has ever used 2 AV programs at the same time

    I think the one program I couldn't live without is Excel, I use it so much at work, and often at home as well, and I wouldn't want to go through the hassle of learning another spreadsheet.

    Other than that, I'm not attached to any program that much that I couldn't learn to work with a replacement.
