    The best keep awake food....

Well what else is there to do when your two incompitent engineers still haven't finished upgrading their part of the system at 2am.......

But have the most immensely thick belguim waffle, sugar and calorie horrific topped with chocolate sauce

I'm now wide awake for the next 30mins at least, maybe i might get to do my bit of upgrade then.....

Wouldn't be so bad but i started work at 8:15 yesterday morning....

Feels like it might be 8:15 this morning by the time i'm finished here at this rate.

At least hexus is here to keep me amused.

Re: The best keep awake food....

Try eating a live crab, no cutlery. Bet that'd keep you awake.

*edit* nah, it maybe wouldn't, just googled it out of sheer boredom and there's footage of people doing it. Crikey. I therefore retract that suggestion. Humble apologies.

OK, eat a live king cobra. I'm not even going near that Google place this time...

Re: The best keep awake food....

    Waffles again, but slightly different:

Waffles Butter Toffee from Real Food Direct
(they tend to be in a lot of supermarkets now too)

They're pretty flat, filled with immensely sugary buttery toffee and slightly larger than a normal mug so you can sit them over your tea/coffee to melt slightly before eating them

Another thing that works for me without going down the sugar/caffine route is ice cold water, go as if to drink it but don't open your mouth. Let it sit on your top lip for a while before drinking some... Don't know why but I find this really sharpens me up if I'm tired!

Re: The best keep awake food....

You want slow releasing sugary foods..

if you have quick high foods/drink, yes you will be awake but the high will rapidly wear off leaving you feel like you need more asap.

Try pasta, bananas, toast with honey- mix the sugars with slow releasing carbs to sustain a consistant throughput of energey.

be warned, sleep depreivation is immensly damaging to the body and mind.

Re: The best keep awake food....

Don't they just constrict your blood vessels and raise blood pressure? Not my idea of fun for staying awake.

For me it's coffee plus sugar+carbohydrates. All the cheap chocolate crisp type things that I normally can't stand become mouth-watering past 2am.
