I would hate sharing a room with someone else, especially a room in a such a dive that it only costs £25 a week. But accomodation aside, I could easily eat for a week (and shave, wash etc.) for £20 when I lived on my own and took home £600 a month (late '99- Jun '01). My room cost £50 a week so I had about £250-£300 disposable income a month- which is about what I have now, when I earn £32k p/a.
