Not one my favourite actors but he had one hell of a career with a few true classics. Sad to hear he's passed away though.
Gun crazy idiot. Standing there with his 'from my cold dead hands' stuff, while kids in schools and colleges are been shot left, right and center.
Typical ignorant, gun obsessed Yank.
Yep true, ok a the guy has just sadly passed away but still stupid yank.
edit: oh 1000 posts, good way to mark it by saying STUPID YANK!

Wow...
I was joking!
It's amazing to see such anti-gun sentiment. The young and impressionable..
For what it's worth, Heston campaigned to keep the 2nd amendment rights of US citizens. Basically giving people the right to legally defend themselves. Something sorely lacking in the kneejerk reaction driven UK.
Yeah, the fact that I haven't got 3 handguns and a rifle is a constant problem in my life.
We are 'sorely lacking' average joe owning a gun. I mean, its not like anyone is going to use them for anything else other than legally defending themselves.
Ain't dat the truth, TeePee?
Real men can defend themselves with their fists...
I only just watched Bowling for Columbine for the 1st time on Saturday..!
It's a shame that after his good acting career, he will be most remembered (in a bad light) for his NRA stuff.
RIP
"Homicide rates tend to be related to firearm ownership levels. Everything else being equal, a reduction in the percentage of households owning firearms should occasion a drop in the homicide rate".
Evidence to the Cullen Inquiry 1996: Thomas Gabor, Professor of Criminology - University of Ottawa
In the 14 deadliest mass shootings committed in wealthy nations during the past 35 years:
79% of the victims were shot with lawfully held firearms (185 of 233 victims)
86% of these mass shooting (12 of 14) were committed by lawful gun owners
Average Joe does not need a gun.
'Should' Vs. 'Results'.
The problem isn't ownership it's mentality. If at first you don't succeed try again is replaced, in America by, If at first you don't succeed use a gun. We see yanks firing guns at wheels to remove the bolts and recently a bloke who accidentally killed his wife while installing a satellite dish; he shot the wall to make a hole. We see them place loaded firearms where children can easily get at them, they simply have a far more casual attitude to guns than other nations, even those whose gun ownership per head of population is higher. They share a similar mentality with some arabs that think nothing of firing a few rounds off into the air in order to make up for their small penis size. Ironically it's these people who can't handle guns properly that have large quantities or weapons regularly available.
Charlton Heston. Yep, made some classics in a long career but will always be tainted by a zealous attitude towards firearms.
