    Red Dwarf Fans?

Any Red Dwarf fans out there? I dunno why, but I decided to check out the wiki page as I was looking for a quote, and I came across this:

Red Dwarf - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Look at the link though, Dollarpound. Not Red Dwarf (TV Series) or something sensible like that. Also, check out this quote from the page:

Words and phrases such as hologrammatic, Dollarpound, Felis sapiens, rogue simulants, GELF, space weevil and Zero G football appear throughout the series, highlighting a development in language, political climate, technology, evolution and culture in the future/
Now, I started watching Red Dwarf in my teens and loved it, I had the remastered videos and a few years back got the DVD box set releases when they first came out. I constantly quote Red Dwarf, I can also sometimes tell you which series and episode a clip or quote comes from (my memory is pretty poor at the best of times, so most of the time I now it but can't say it). However, in the past 15 years or so of enjoying Red Dwarf (with the possible exception of series 7 and 8 ) I can honestly say I don't ever recall hearing or seeing the word Dollarpound!

Can anyone shed any light on this? Or is my mind playing tricks on me and it's something really obvious?

Can't remember the episode, but I'm sure I've heard Lister say...

    "Sound as a Dollarpound".

    Will have to check....

    Re: Red Dwarf Fans?

Something like - this pool arm is as sound as a dollarpound.

From the ep White Hole. Lister has to play pool with planets, and wins a vote to take the shot over Holy.

    Remember?

Kryten votes for Lister as a living human outranks a hologram, the cat because he could not bring himself to vote for someone with Rimmers dress sense.

Been a fan since the 80s.

    ^^^

What he said, was said by Lister, Prince of the Planet Potters.

    Yes.

Pool God, King of the cues, Prince of the Planet Potters.

That ep makes me laugh, Rimmers line - you're going to drink an entire 6 pack of wicked strength lager. Always makes me laugh that.

    Re: Red Dwarf Fans?

Need to go home and have a good Red Dwarf watch now. Got them all on DVD except 7 & 8 (I refuse to accept their existance). Think I have them all on original (pre remaster) VHS.

Queeg is probably my personal favourite.

    Re: Red Dwarf Fans?

I like Marooned. Nothing really happens, only Lister and Rimmer sitting down talking, and yet its very funny.

Shows how far the quality of the writing fell by the time the last 2 series came around...

One of the audio books talks about dollarpounds. It's the one where Lister is a taxi driver on one of Jupiter's moons and gets Rimmer as a punter. He takes a dislike to Rimmer (obviously) and jacks keeps pressing an "increase dollarpounds" button under the dashboard :-)

The episode where Kryten is chased by his Divadroid replacement? He's talking about him getting notice of being killed.

And thanks to all those who answered, been a fan for 15 years, and never knew. But they mentioned it in one episode, hardly call for a "hallmark" of the series, and surely no reason to entitle the page Dollarpound instead of Red Dwarf (TV Series).

    Weird.
