that station used to be OneWord, it was a shame it went bust/off air or whatever but the birdsong thing is a good thing to do with the frequency - i thought it would only be temporary but maybe they've found it's really popular

I think that I might have experienced 'sleep paralysis' earlier yesterday. No hallucination, but I felt like I could not move or breathe (as if there was some weight on my chest) even though I was conscious. Quite an interesting experience, this is one of those things I pondered what it might feel like to actually experience it, though I didn't know sure if I would ever encounter xD
Was told this when i had slepping problems.
Close your eyes.
Imagine a totally black wall.
Then imagine the words 'SLOW' appearing bit by bit in white lights. (Not the whole letter but each letter slowly appearing as if being written.
Guarantee before you manage to write SLOW in your mind for the 5th time you will be asleep.
I havent been sleeping since coming out to Oz but thats a mixture of either being out myself or the fact I'm sharing a room with 7 other people who are coming home at all sort of times. I have to get up at 6am
Started napping after work to keep me alive untill the Weekend

3rd day awake in a row for me if I can stay awake today, but I'll probably go to bed for a couple of hours sometime in the afternoon
Falling asleep is not usually a problem. But sometime I question the 'quality' of sleep I am getting. I find that if I sleep <6 hours, I'll wake up feeling full of energy, but I will feel sleeping before the end of the day. If I get ~8 hours (or more), I'll wake up feeling knackered, although I'll last the day and some. I don't think that 7 hours get me the best of both world either.
btw, we dream nearly every sleep.
I had a problem with insomnia a few years back, not a very nice experience. I had heard about the excercise, but it did not work too great for me. I used to go out for one hour walk in the evening. I guess you need to just try things, until you find what works for you.
I remember reading somewhere, if you can't get to sleep after one or two hours in bed; it's best to get up and do something that it not stimulating, reading or easy listening to music or radio. I used to just get up, and start reading some book or a newspaper. After an hour or so, I would feel relaxed enough to go back to sleep. After a while, my sleep gradually improved until the insomnia went away.
Good luck with sorting this out,
Paul.

thanks for that source, and in case people didn't get the pure unadulterated genius behind that statement, allow me to elaborate
