it could be completely wrong and be hardly any difference at all, or they could be correct on what they claim..

Zak, you should change your tag from timelord to 'man with time on his hands'
In the internets, no one can hear you sarcasm.

Re: I now own a Mains Power Metering Device....

I've had a great time with this gadget

Sair is fuming..I keep unplugging stuff and then putting it in to see what power stuff uses

BUT....bulbs don't use the same as they say! I tested 3 60W bulbs, two were 55W and one was nearly 70W. So, young matty h, bloody good question.

    New experinment coming up now.

I've put it onto a multiplug, and for the next week will monitor my entire PC power drain.

New thread in a few minutes.

Re: I now own a Mains Power Metering Device....

It's called an Airforce Energy tracker, and I can't find it on B&Q's web site.

Retail is £25 and my local store sold them for £9.98, hence I grabbed it

Zak, where in B&Q was this?

I had a look this morning and couldn't see anything like it at all. Probably looking in the wrong sections though

    Thanks man.

Re: I now own a Mains Power Metering Device....

    Wow, nice thread Zak!

The Nokia charger really interested me, I always wondered if having it plugged in without the phone charging used power.

And my PC's are all going off at the switch every night from now on !

    Cheers.

Re: I now own a Mains Power Metering Device....

It's in the elxtric light bulb section, hanging on a metal strip between shelves. No wonder they had to reduce it in price, nearly bloody invisible There were about 20 hanging there. I then found them in the light fittings section, NOT reduced.

Typical superstore, not very super marketing.

Saved 180.18p per week since switching off the surge protector. Not bad that makes around £100 per year.

Re: I now own a Mains Power Metering Device....

After finding all the little "pregnant plug" transformers were using 10W+
I changed all my power strips to individually switched ones:
and also use mains timers to turn everything off at 3am and come back on at 5pm while I'm asleep / at work

Still couldn't find any in Aberdeen.

Probably walked straight past them. I blame the Man Flu.
