    well, in all honesty at the very least it does highlight a flaw with the way thanks are dealt with, in that anyone could manipulate the url to gain lots 'o thanks therefore making themselves seem more trustworthy and respectable.

    well no. people still have to click on the link so unless 50 people click on the link then they are not going to get 50 thanks... and if someone tries it then the next post would have someone complaining so no one else would click (so you would think!)... the post would also be reported. The only reason why this thread worked well is because everyone knows its a joke and kept it quiet for a couple of pages...
