Cheers guys and girls!
It's a shade before 7am here in Taiwan, the forecast is hot and sweaty, followed by hot and sweaty cooling off in the evening to warm and sweaty with a fine drizzle to keep the humidity nice and moist... fine if you're with a lady but no good out in for Computex!
Anyhoo, just to let you all know, HEXUS is an honourable company so no strip bars were visited, though we did visit a bar and everyone's clothes stayed on.
We then went for a very nice dinner which Scott ate the lion's share of, closely followed by Parm leaving an emaciated Iain to scrabble for the scraps.
David ordered up a cake which, this being Taipei, meant a waiter went to the 24 hour cake shop (no, really, there IS a 24 hour cake shop just in case you fancy a black forest gateau at 3am) and everyone sang happy birthday before the massive heat signature of the candles set the sprinklers off.
We all managed to get a slice before Parm, Scott and Eren devoured the lot, Eren taking a large chunk of the table beneath his plate with him in the last mouthful. We assured the waitress that fingers do grow back and it was her fault for standing too close anyway.
Today is our first venture to the show halls for Computex which doesn't officially open until tomorrow, so we'll either be welcomed with open arms and allowed to peruse the halls as the stands are being finished off or we'll end up in a Jackie Chan style face off with three old but surprisingly spry security guards stroking their long flowing beards and threatening to pluck out our eyes.
I'm off to have a shower now before heading down to breakfast to explain to the chef yet again that you can eat a fried egg if the yolk is runny and that bacon does not have to be cooked until it has the same edible qualities as corrugated iron.
That said, at least I can use chopsticks which means I won't starve, unlike two of our party who are reduced to stabbing the larger pieces of food like some plate based spear fishermen of yore...
Peace out.
LOL, glad to see that you're having fun anyway
Happy Birthday Dude
