I got over any reservations quite quick as I had to use camo-paint a hell of a lot when in Army Cadets for my face and neck so we'd be hidden.
Why is it Halloween is popular now? Have we followed the americans approach because you hardly seen trick-or-treaters when I was young but now we have groups of kids with their parents carting round the streets knocking on peoples doors asking for free candy.
I think I'll just turn the music up on Halloween night and the nights leading up to it and ignore any knocks at the door. If I'm needed by mates to open the door, they can ring me beforehand so I can let them in.
