I got over any reservations quite quick as I had to use camo-paint a hell of a lot when in Army Cadets for my face and neck so we'd be hidden.

Why is it Halloween is popular now? Have we followed the americans approach because you hardly seen trick-or-treaters when I was young but now we have groups of kids with their parents carting round the streets knocking on peoples doors asking for free candy.

I think I'll just turn the music up on Halloween night and the nights leading up to it and ignore any knocks at the door. If I'm needed by mates to open the door, they can ring me beforehand so I can let them in.

    Re: Halloween

I can bring my camo-cream to the LAN for you Funk if you want! Haven't used for 3 years though, so not sure if it's still "spreadable". In fact, I might be bringing it anyway as part of my fancy dress (i.e. I turn up in my work clothes).

    Re: Halloween

Halloween is great. A wholesome family celebration where little chavs-in-the-making are given free rein to egg people's houses.

If only there was some celebration that involved gunpowder and rockets becoming freely available to vicious idiots. That would be just perfect!

    Re: Halloween

I don't mind when it's little kids, but when it's 16 and 17 year olds using it as an excuse for vandalism and what is, according to the legal definition, robbery, I think it's completely ridiculous. I particular remember one year when a frankly pathetic group of kids put sellotape over the keyhole of a completely blind blind old lady in my village, causing her immense distress when she was unable to open her front door.
On the bright side, one of my school friend's parents got to last laugh on the trick or treaters a while back by hiding inside the wheelie bin on his drive and popping up as they cam towards the house.

    Re: Halloween

I personally find Halloween completely boring now and just can't be arsed to get a costume or anything.

I still get a pumpkin every year though since they do look pretty cool.

    Camo cream was great.

Only, I used a little too much the first time I had it on, ended up with a very bad dark brown face and fringe.

    Sure I have pics somewhere...
