    Shaving

So, just out of curiosity, (for the lads, BTW), what do you shave with?
A manual blade (i.e. Gillette Mach 3 or somesuch) or an electric one?

What about when you first started? I use a manual one, but am kinda intregued by the electric ones...What's so much better about them?

(Poll is for current usage, BTW)

    Re: Shaving

    Wet shave here.

Currently using a Gillette Fusion and King Of Shave oil (some wird blue stuff), closest shave i've ever had! The oil is great stuff.

Back when I first started shaving it was an electric, but they really hurt my face. Been using a razor for a lot of years now, probably since about 2000 i think.

    Re: Shaving

I voted manual because that's all I've really used. But I do want to try electric. I hardly shave though, I use a trimmer without the grade attachment and trim all my facial hair down to grade zero stubble. But if need be (interview etc) I'll shave it clean.

Used to always go for a wet shave with a Quattro but now i prefer the speed and ease of my Philishave coolskin (so still kinda wet but not really).

Shaving's bloody annoying, waste of time IMO but I look stupid otherwise, can't grow a full beard yet
I use one of those vibro-shavers (wet).

I use a Philishave coolskin, never have used manual ... I might think about getting some new blades, or a newer, better model because my face seems to be getting cut to pieces recently

    Re: Shaving

The Mach3 is prettymuch unbeatable for wet shaving. Cant get on with electric shavers, tried a few over the years, just take too long and are, in my eyes inefficient.

    Re: Shaving

I used a Mach3 for ages, but the fusion, being larger, seems to sit at the right angle on my face better. Pretty sure the extra blades are useless.

    Re: Shaving

I tried the Fusion, but they clog faster & are harder to unclog due to the extra blades. The Mach3 is a design that just 'works'. But I do have a couple of straight razors that see action if i'm feeling particularly foolhardy.

Wet shave - can't get close enough with electric razors (military standards... ).

I was using Gillette shaving gel until a couple of weeks ago, but found a badger shaving brush for £13 in TK Maxx. So I'm now starting to use that, but still with my Mach 3 Turbo. When I run out of blades for that, I might try a proper safety razor.

    Re: Shaving

So...For a 'growing lad' like me who hates having to shave approx every 2 weeks, would an electric shaver work better, as I can just trim it etc. as its needed rather than either shave very often and make it grow back faster? Its either that or letting it sorta grow as long as I can bear it before I shave...
I've been told stories of the fabled 5 O'clock stubble, and am very scared of it!!

So, teenager stays with manual or goes electric?
