I'm in one of those moods today, it's been a bad day, and it's been made a whole lot worse by someone at work.

Namely one of our so called managers. Yesterday I left my phone on the cash desk at work as it was diggining into my pocket as I was working on something. It was some half an hour before I picked it up again, didn't think very much of the fact that it had been moved, I thought Janine (The cashier) had picked it up to move it out the way or something.

Today, I was sat in the staff room chomping my way through a small bar of whole nut chocolate and having a drink of cold water when one of the store managers came into the room. He told me he'd sent me a text message to see if I could come in earlier and work, but as I did'n't reply he tried calling me and then realised the number was dead.

So I gave him the new number and he then said how he knew I hadn't got his text. When I asked he said it was because he'd found my phone at the cash desk and had gone through my text messages and sure enough I didn't have his message.

I didn't really make much of it, I was alittle shocked that he had done this, but the more I think about it the more I realise just how wrong he was to do that. I could have had anything on there (which I haven't) that was a total invasion of my privacy.

I've never ever done that to anyone, if I see someone elses phone around I leave it alone.

I mean who does he think he is ?? I really do feel quite angry about this, I suppose it is partly my fault for leaving it where I did but he's just shown me he has no respect for me or my privacy.

Sadly if I did complain it's a case of my word against his, I'd need a witness to the offence and without that I haven't really got a leg to stand on.

Return the favour, but make sure he's looking...............

Just go and have a word with him and tell him it's unacceptable and if he does it again there'll be consequences.

Unfortunately he could probably say he found the phone lying around and was looking in it to try and find who it belonged to.

Have a word with him first, politely but firmly, and tell him what you're going to do and your reasons for doing it. Even though, as you say, it probably wouldn't come to anything it'll be on record and it'll show him you're serious about it. Make sure you put the complaint in writing.

I'd be very unhappy with that from a manager.have a quiet word first and see if he apologizes.

I have to say that this manager sounds like an absolute ******! Who lacks the basic morality that all good managers have and the intelligence to manage his staff.

Personally I'm surprised he hasn't collapsed because he has forgotten how to breathe!

I don't trust the guy as far as I can throw him I never have really. He's one of those guys that he's either your mate one minute and then a complete and utter troll to you the next.

He's the sort of manager that at 10 mins before the store is due to close he expects you to re-merchendise a big section of the store in 10 seconds flat, and then has a go at you a day later when the job isn't done.

set it up again... leave ur phone blatently where he would try to look through it again.. possibley spread around u have soming cool on it and video him looking through it.....thats wot i wld do and then get him fired....... what i wld do if some1 lked through my phone
