    Nuisance Callers

What's the best thing to say to a company that won't stop calling you even though you've politely but firmly asked them to stop calling you previously?

Alternatively, what's my other options? Unfortunately their number doesn't show when they are calling (it doesn't show "withheld" it comes up "unknown" or something like that) so I don't know how else to stop their calls.

Just trying to contact my telephone provider to see if there's anything they can do, but they're a bit useless (Pipex)...

    Re: Nuisance Callers

Get someone else to answer the phone to tell them that you're dead?

Joking aside, are they trying to sell you stuff or are they just harrassing you? Couldn't you take it police/courts and so on?

This seems to crop up about once a fortnight, so a simple forum search would turn up some answers as well

    Lol! Nice!

Register with the Telephone Preference Service:

    http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/

    Once registered you can say:

"I'm registered with TPS, stop calling this number"

Should, stop them calling back..... and any other unsolicited sales/survey calls coming thru!
Beer is life, life is good!

That's all well and good, but I'm trying to get a serious answer. These calls are a pain, and I'm getting 2-3 per day. I just had another a few minutes ago... Not really funny.

Thank you, that's what I'm looking for. I have registered with them and just told them that. We'll see if I get any more (yes I know it can take up to 28 days, but it won't stop me telling them it).

Sadly it doesn't work very well. I've always been with the TPS but I still get spam calls - when there's a person you can explain you're on the TPS and they say they won't call back, but most of the time it's automated messages with no option to even let them know they shouldn't be ringing.

    Re: Nuisance Callers

I simply greet the nuisance caller with a short silence, followed by some heavy breathing and then another deathly silence.

    It seems to work
