    Getting a book signed

I went to see Top Gear filmed a while back, I took Clarksons book and he signed it for me. Hammonds one didn't come in time. I was wondering if I sent it to BBC Top Gear with a note and an SAE he would sign it and send it back?

    What you think?

    Re: Getting a book signed

I think it depends on whether he ever sees it or not. If it gets to him, my guess (and I stress guess) would be that he would sign it. But not all celebs do. Were it me, I wouldn't bother, but then I'm interested in reading books (and read, and enjoyed, Hammond's account of his accident and recuperation), and don't care if the author signed them.

    Re: Getting a book signed

    Email to who?

Well Top Gear does have a write in address, so I could mark it for him, as its a package I guess it would get there and he would probably be nosey to see what it is. Its just nice to have something personally signed.

can't see them forking the cost to send it back to you. if you do go with sending it to them then make sure you supply another self addressed envelope so they can send it back

yes indeed for people who don't read the original post.

at least i'm not sad enough to use 'epic lols' in any type of conversation, even on a forum.

Sooo... Stringent mentioned an SAE, and Marenghi didn't read that post and mentioned the SAE again.

    Yep, got that.

Where do the 'epic lols' come from though?

Maybe if you write a note with the book saying you were part of the audience but didnt manage to get Hammond's book sent in time? Worth a shot?
