What was the last book you read?

I thought, since there's a thread about "what was the last movie you saw?" - then why can't it be a thread about books too? I love reading in the summer, or well whenever acutally, but you have more time during the holidays etc. It would be fun to see what others are reading + I don't have many left to read, so it might be good getting tips from you
Even if it is in another language, maybe there's a translation or something? If you haven't read anything in a while, then you could recommend one.

I hope you won't find this thread too boring

[Last book I read:] Mess, by Jens Ganman. Unfortunately this book is a swedish one and isn't translated in English, but it's a really good one. About a couple that is on a break and making conversations over their cellphones via texts (sms). This book put words on some real heavy feelings, feelings one doesn't talk about much or share with other people. It's said on the back of the book that those who like Nick Hornby should like this one and that is true !

    [Recommendations:]
    - A Long Way Down; by Nick Hornby. A bit sad/depressing but at the same time very Ironic! and funny in a way.
    - The Summons; by John Grisham. Really good and exciting I think!

The one I didn't like that muich was Norwegian Wood, just doesnt seem to have that Murakami edge his other novels have.

Sounds good. I like Nick Hornby, great author. Was the guy who got me into reading a bit more.

Danny King is good too, especially the Hitman Diaries and the Burglar Diaries

it just makes you look at things in a different way, it sort of turns the whole idea of the cravings on its head, hard to explain it really, best thing to do is tell him to buy it, its about 8 quid for the paperback and the best 8 quid ive spent in years.
