UK Biometrics High street ID cards

So by 2010 all uk humans, british or expats, will be forced to have their fingerprints, iris's, and faces scanned to control identity theft.

Please give your thoughts on this...

    personally i think

1/it wont stop online visa card theft, as there is no way to scan iris's when shopping at ebuyer, or when taking cash from the ATM.
2/The government is takaing a megalomaniacal view on having control over citizens.
