    Thumbs up Good News Thread

I've just been browsing the BBC news website and there's a lot of doom and gloom on there, which I suppose is to be expected given the current economical situation that the world is in. So I thought it would be nice to have a thread where people could post news stories where something good is happening in the world.

So I'll start off with this one http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7735696.stm

I find it truly amazing seeing what is now becoming possible in medical science, the possibilities for the future are very impressive indeed!

Anyway there's the challenge, hopefully it'll be taken up because I for one could do with reminding that there are still some positive news stories out there!

    Thanks

    Andy

I'm slightly amused by the fact that these changes are temporary... It means that they are going to raise them later to pay off the debt which the government is rapidly stacking up.

    Great news isn't it?

'Lower taxes now! We want to win the next election. Oh yeah... um... once the election is over we're going to raise taxes skyhigh to pay for the lower taxes, but it don't matter then. Right?'

Or something along those lines anyway.
