It's mounting up right now. Wonder who's idea was to save up on grit.
There is no point in spreading grit when it's actually snowing, it just gets covered and does nothing.
You need to wait until it stops, plow most most of it away, then spread grit.

However, the local's don't help with some of their rather insane methods of driving in the snow.
It wasn't too bad on the M61, but the junction 6 sliproad was icy as hell and we nearly came a cropper coming off the motorway. It took us 50 minutes though to cover a 5 minute drive from my home to the motorway due to the excessive traffic and the gridlock that was happening.
I wonder how this country survived the "winters" back in the days of black & white film and when snowfalls were taller than smaller children, not this 3 inches of snow which causes panic and havoc across the region.
Weather warnings are in place for the north west with upto 20cm snow tonight in parts.
