Some of my fav place names with a suspect name...
First off, the two Twatts:
Twatt on the Shetland Islands, which is not to be confsued with the completely different:
Twatt in the Orkney Islands.
Remember to check folks, as arriving in the wrong Twatt can be awkward.
Some other good places in England include: (all genuine)
Minge Lane, Worcestershire, England
Bell End, Birmingham, England
Fingringhoe, Essex, England
Back Passage, City of London, an alleyway in the EC1 postal district
Slag Lane, Merseyside, a residential street in Haydock, England
Cockshoot Close, Oxfordshire, England
Funbag Drive, Watford, England
Fanny Avenue, Derbyshire, England
Cockermouth, Allerdale, Cumbria
Ladygate Lane, Ruislip
And my own personal fav - Friars' Entry, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.
Not to be out done, those 'four rian' people you might have heard of, have some good ones of their own.
If you ever find yourself in the east of Hong Kong's Kowloon Peninsula, and need to let off steam, be sure to take a trip down:
Here is one cross roads you might like to look up next time you are in New York:
And back to the UK for Dale Wintons fav village:
Which is in the Dorset village of Corfe Mullen.
Post any good ones you can find.
