    A larger room please.

If I had a larger room I could get a bigger screen, bigger tv and have more space for things like speakers and stuff. Sadly I don't .

New wife. One that's had the technology ambitions filter disabled.

Last time I mentioned a new PC, she mentioned double glazing, redoing the kitchen, an induction hob, new carpets and something about a three-week cruise.

Fortunately, she hasn't yet worked out that same PC case <> same PC inside it.

I'd say switch to Vista 64 bit. You have 4GB of memory plus however much in your graphics cards. With 64 bit all of your RAM could be used by your system rather than around 3GB of what's probably available now.

    Hide the credit cards.

    OR . . . . . .

put ALL shopping sites on the router blacklist, then just claim the internet's broken, pretend to do all you can to try and fix it, give up blaming BT then get lucky later on (you can all thank me tomorrow ) (also after these steps again hide the cards so she cant sneak off to the shops and physically buy the products)

She uses PCs at work, but I'm not convinced that turning mine on wouldn't defeat her. Getting past the logon prompt certainly would. Wonderful things, passwords.

This is Saracen here, not Sim. Most likely terabytes of word documents.
