Jeez how are you lot all getting so low in general studies? You not trying in the exams or something? I screwed my ASs big time last year but still walked A2 Gen studies with an A!

Anyway, all mine to be taken in the summer; French, German and English. Not looking forwards!

general studies.. why bother? no universities accept it, so it was just a waste of 5 hours of everyone's lives, hence no-one (well that i know of from my college) bothered trying... one of my mates got suspended from some of the crazy stuff he wrote on his (basically slagging off AQA, but quite bad stuff heh - not for a family forum like hexus) yet still managed to get an E (only one of his exam papers was voided hah), whereas i got 100/100 for the maths one because it was piss, i didnt bother writing jack for the 'english' type ones

Well the reason i got my E in general studies was becuase i did French, which i have never done in my life before. As i thought we may get some grounding in it...but not straight in at A-level standard. Still got 23.

Then for the written we had a competition to get the most abusive/selection of words in. such as Nazi, which i managed in the music thing talking about Nazi Umpa bands being popular music, and how now popular music is apparently "black men yelling down microphones about their biatches" And also i wrote something about magician's being good performers, unless they do the trick with the sawing and the box and get it wrong and kill the person.

So it was generally a laugh

    physics (AS) = A
    Maths (AS) = A
computing (CPT1) = B (crap teacher who cant use access to save his life)
Geography = B (even tho my teacher almost kicked me out 2 days ago for not ever working, had a good time rubbing her face in it)

When I did my A levels one of the girls in my further maths class got a prize for the heighest average module score (97-ish % over 12 modules) Yet she failed all the maths parts of the Gen Studies Mocks/Exams - Maybe people can only do one sort of maths: a) Noddy or b) Rock hard

I take it you get a choice to sit Gen Studies or not? Well if you chose to do it what's the point of messing around for those 5 hours? Which were awful yes. Noone round here revised but we all went into the exam, sat the paper seriously and then left once we'd finished, we've now got something akin to a basic IQ test or similar that can go alongside DofE and prizes etc on UCAS forms. Worth having for the cost of sitting a few papers!

If you got entered in for it en mass, well, unlucky and I guess I sympathise
