Was bidding on a phone, lost the auction...
Received an e-mail from some guy saying he has the same phone and has offered me a fixed price from it. Would you trust these approaches?
I replied and asked for pictures of the phone but even so, legit?

if he's already got one, why would he want another?
elmo I think the person who approached him was not the same and the winner of the auction

was the winner of the auction a low rated buyer? Probably a second account used to pump the prices up.
Or if you've been approached by another seller, they're breaking ebay regs IIRC.
they are but lots of people do it.
If they have offered you the phone, say you will but it, agree a price, then say to them to list it with a buy it now price, then you can snap it up straight away, this way he gets his sale, eBay give you the guarantee.....
Personally if he refuses to do it that way.....walk away.

Got a reply with a tiny, poor quality .bmp file attached. Urged me to check his ratings to ensure he was genuine.
Auction was held by an ebayer with a rating of (1)...
... I think I'll leave this one alone.
