I can see that filter get in my way when I order stuff online. Especially the £ one. The more 'clever' spam I've seen now involves attaching an image of the message to bypass such filters too.
Not much spam here. Hardly get any. Guess that is because i don't know anybody!
How do you all get so much spam? I've had my hotmail addy for years and I get around 5 a week, but they're all from casinos I used to use online that I havent been bothered to delete my account with! Apart from that, maybe two or three Nigerians offer me a princely sum every year!
Touchy aren't we.
That's because I find existing filters from GMail/Yahoo/Hotmail relatively competent, though they do miss the occasional image spam - hence my pointing those out. The idea of a filter is to reduce the amount of work you do. I did not say your filters were crap, more power to you if you find them useful. I am just saying there are people like me who regularly shop online and would find that particular filter generate more false positive than it's worth (that's would be like suggesting to block all images to avoid image style spam).
I do have some filters that came in handy when someone spoofed my email address to send spam (resulting in a bunch of 'returned mail'). I do not expect anyone else to find it useful until/unless it happens to them (and when it does, 'blind' filters like those are not that hard to setup).
Even more ironic, 3 spam posts in GC!
I seem to get less, but I change my emails every few years, and keep personal away from others.
After years without I am recieveing 1-2 of those bank spams a day for the past couple of weeks. Very annoying!
Not around too often!
