    Lloyds blames HBOS for £4bn loss

    the better news for Lloyds shareholders was that most of these poor quality loans were now being insured by taxpayers, so that future losses would be borne by the taxpayer, not the banks.
    Ah yes, that's much better, so long as you're not a tax payer... ****.

    As some consipiracists say the government strongly urged the HBOS acquisition, they could argue it was fair.
